Teaching Experience
Whether your dream is to hike the Inca Trail, discuss ceviche in-depth, retire in an Andalucian olive grove, stargaze in the Atacama Desert, surf in Cabo Polonio or explore the vineyards of Mendoza, nothing beats these experiences like living them in the local language and sharing them with the locals.

For the past twenty years, I’ve taught Spanish to students of all ages and backgrounds. I’ve taught at institutions like Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht and Molinos de Viento in Amsterdam, as well as privately—one-on-one at home, over Zoom, and at companies like Wieden + Kennedy and 180 Global.
I’ve also given talks on Spanish language and culture at Instituto Cervantes in NYC and Paris, The University of Boston, and in high schools and cultural organizations across Florida and NYC.

My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive, engaging environment where students can confidently explore the Spanish language. I tailor my approach to each student’s learning style, ensuring personalised attention to help them succeed. With years of experience, I’ve developed effective strategies to help students overcome challenges and gain fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. I firmly believe anyone can learn a foreign language - and I’m here to help you do just that!

I’m Noemí, a passionate Spanish language teacher, writer and polyglot dedicated to helping others discover their full potential in language and communication.
Originally from Barcelona, I’ve had the privilege of living in Spain, the Netherlands, Quebec (Canada), and the UK, which has given me a deep appreciation for diverse languages and cultures.

While my main current focus is teaching and writing, I also occasionally take on radio, voiceover, and film projects. I have a background in journalism, radio, and voiceover production, which allows me to bring a unique approach to my work.
​
As an avid traveler, I love bringing cultural insights into my teaching. My goal is to make learning Spanish engaging and create a space where language becomes a tool for connection and discovery. I'm passionate about helping students build confidence and curiosity as they explore the beauty of learning a new language, unlocking their full Spanish-speaking potential, perspective, and worldview.

In addition to my teaching career, I am a passionate writer with a deep love for storytelling and creative expression.
I have authored, edited, ghostwritten, and translated numerous books, graded readers, short stories, and articles.
My work has been published in various outlets, including BBC, BBC International, Amnesty International, Greenpeace International, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Pearson Publishing, Radio Nederlands, Scholastic, Instituto Cervantes, Elsevier, Difusión, and Edinumen.
As a writer, I am always striving to hone my craft and explore new genres and styles. I believe that writing is not only a powerful form of self-expression but also a meaningful way to connect with others and share unique perspectives on the human experience.

I am deeply committed to continuous learning and exploration, regularly staying up to date with new teaching methods and tuning into podcasts on language, travel, and education.

Fluent in English, Catalan, and Dutch, with a strong command of Italian and French, I’ve been studying Japanese for the last seven years and hope to become fluent in it someday! As an avid reader, I am always expanding my knowledge of languages and their rich cultural heritage.

Whether teaching or writing, my goal is to inspire and empower others through the power of language. I strive to create an environment where learning is a journey of self-discovery and growth.

Voiceover

I am a versatile Spanish voiceover and voiceover producer and my true strength lies in my ability to adapt my voice to suit a wide range of characters, accents and genres.
As a producer, I'm able to bring out the best performances and matching the right voice to each character. My attention to detail, collaborative spirit, and problem-solving skills allow me to deliver high-quality voiceover recordings on schedule and on budget.

I have been very lucky to work with incredible talent and studios in London, Amsterdam and Barcelona on animated films, video games, commercials, and audiobooks, and I feel I have accumulated invaluable knowledge through every single project.
At the core of my craft lies a deep love for language and storytelling. I approach each project with a keen understanding of the narrative, immersing myself in the story and emotional journey.
